Leinebris confirms new construction based on ST design

news-details

The shipping company Leinebris AS from Fosnavåg has signed a contract for newbuilding with the Turkish shipyard Tersan. The shipping company currently owns and operates a large and modern multi-purpose fishing boat that was delivered from the same shipyard in 2015. The new boat is built on the success factors of today's vessels and, like the previous build, was also designed by Skipsteknisk AS.

Shipping company and design company have collaborated very closely to come up with the best solutions for this to be a fishing boat that pushes the boundaries to the next level.

Like today's Leinebris, in addition to line and net fishing, the new building will also be equipped for seine seine. This will lead to a very flexible boat, which will be able to adapt gear selection and fishing pattern on the fishing ground according to weather and conditions.

There has been a great focus on making use of all energy produced on board. Among other things, the boat will be equipped with electric deck equipment, a large battery pack and three generator sets combined with a submersible azimuth thruster in the bow and an azipull thruster in the stern. Low hull resistance and good sea characteristics have been a major focus during the development of this project.

Furthermore, the boat will be built with a double loading deck, RSW tanks for both live and bled fish, as well as the possibility of unloading directly from the RSW tanks to shore. This, combined with silage production, means that all residual raw material will be taken care of.

The new building will be given the design designation ST-158 and will have a length of 64.90 meters and a width of 15 metres. Double cargo decks, covered working decks and moonpool will ensure the safety of the crew. Inside, arrangements will be made for a high standard and good facilities for recreation and well-being.

For the shipping company, extensive use of local businesses on the supplier side has been important.

Skipsteknisk AS is very grateful for the opportunity to be involved in developing this exciting project together with a former customer.
